About Us

Apt. A and St. Charles Cottage are unique to traditional Bed and Breakfasts in that they afford their guests privacy without sacrificing quality.

Apartment A – A charming Studio Apartment consisting of 576 sq.ft. of living area.  The floor plan is a Living Room, Kitchen and Bedroom combination, as well as a Bath with tub/shower combination.  Meals can be prepared in our fully equipped Kitchen.  The patio area located directly in front of Apt. A is perfect for dining, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, or simply relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine.  Some of our amenities are free WiFi, Cable TV, VCR/DVD player, iron, ironing board, hair dryer and more.

St. Charles Cottage was originally built in the 1940s as a residence.  For the past 20 plus years it served as my husband’s law office.  It was renovated in the Fall of 2016 and is the perfect setting for a relaxing/romantic getaway.  Upon entering the cottage, our guests step onto a simply inviting front porch that beckons them to stay awhile.  The living area of 1100 plus sq.ft. offers a Living Room, Kitchen/Dining Room combination, a Bedroom, Bath with large shower and a spacious Dressing Room.

Over the past decade, we have hosted guests from many of our 50 States, Canada, Europe and Australia.   They were drawn to Abbevillians’ friendly nature, enjoyed delicious cuisine, and appreciated our city’s central location.  Surrounding us are the marshlands of Pecan Island, the incredible gardens of Jefferson and Avery Islands, toe tapping Cajun and Zydeco music and more.  Our cuisine is like none other, especially boiled crawfish in season and other seafood from the nearby Gulf of Mexico.  For Bird Enthusiast, Avery and Jefferson Islands and Lake Martin are a must, as well as Cameron Parish’s Creole Nature Trail.   For Adventurists, a tour with Champagne’s Swamp Tours is informative and enjoyable.  These are only a few of our highlights.

If you are attending a wedding in Abbeville, we are in walking distance of Abbeville United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Magdalen Square and The Caldwell House.   We are located just a couple of city blocks from Vincent Funeral Home for those out of town family members and/or friends who wish to pay their last respects to a loved one.

It is my sincere wish to provide a “home away from home atmosphere” and share the warmth and hospitality of our people and our culture with each of you.
